Last night Dustin dived into 1 John 2: 18…

Jesus died, was buried and rose again. And now we wait in the wake of His absence for Him to return. Jesus is coming back. Are we excited for this, or do we shudder at the thought that this may be soon? What is happening and should happen while we wait? John warned us of anti-Christs that would creep in our midst whispering Jesus was just a good man, and defying the deity of Christ with such subtlety. Dustin provoked us to check our hearts. Are we Anti-Christ? Do accept Christ as God? Does sin appall us or doe we swim comfortably in it? Hebrews 10:26 goes as far to say that “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.” John tells us we are “anointed” by God to be set apart, to be different, to be distinguished from the rest of the world. And a most vital question to ask, what does Jesus Christ mean to us? Jesus IS coming back. May we abide in Him, fall hard for Him, serve Him, submit to Him, rest in Him so that the thought of His return cause to well up with longing and hope, instead of dread and shame.
